Open Data Portals
Datos Abiertos Ecuador (datosabiertos.gob.ec) - The official open data portal of the Ecuadorian government. Includes datasets on public spending, contracts, demographics, and more.
OpenSanctions (Ecuador) - Data on sanctioned entities, politically-exposed persons (PEPs), and their close associates, or entities involved in criminal activity.
Our World in Data - Ecuador: Includes hundreds indicators for Ecuador, covering social, economic, environmental, health, and political.dimensions.
Transparencia - Public authorities must monthly publish key institutional information:
Organizational structure (organigrama)
Legal basis: regulations and internal procedures
Institutional goals and objectives
Employee directory and staffing, etc.
Company Registries / Business Information
Superintendencia de Compañías, Valores y Seguros (SCVS) - Search for Ecuadorian companies by RUC (tax ID), name, or representative. Offers business registration, shareholder info, financial statements.
Information such as identification number of the company, date of registration, name of the company, legal type of company, date of creation, duration, central offices of the company, the company’s capital, paid-up capital, number of shares, nominal value of shares, categories of shares and the number for each category, activity of the company, administration system, administrator/s and the term of their appointment, shareholders, number of shares, participation percentage, other places of the company activity, status of company, registration history, final beneficiaries and may also include other data such as important changes in the company.
Financial institutions registry - Information such as names, central offices, internal & external auditor, directory, legal representative, administrator, shareholders.
Taxpayers Registry - Information on taxpayer personal number; status; central offices; type of taxpayer; date of commencement of activities; date of closure; income and other national taxes paid.
Business Service Providers Directory - Business Service Provider (BSP) Directory contains basic information on service providers that US exporters can contact in pursuit of export sales.
Stock Registry - Information such as issuers of securities, public-offered stocks, stock exchange, stock brokers, rating agencies, external auditors, investment funds.
Bankruptcy and insolvency registry - Debtor information; financial, commercial and insurance operations; credit score based on the latter. (Login Required)
Land Records / Property Ownership
Registro de la Propiedad (Municipal Level)
Each municipality (e.g., Quito, Guayaquil, Cuenca) maintains its own Property Registry (Registro de la Propiedad).How to do it: Visit or contact the Registro de la Propiedad office of the canton where the property is located. Request a “Certificado Literal” or “Certificado de Gravámenes”. Pay a small fee (often between $5 and $15 USD). Wait for results—can be same day or up to a few days, depending on location.

Search Properties in Ecuador - Real Estate Listings
Vehicle Information
Consultas ANT (Online Services) - Direct access to vehicle and license-related databases. When searched by name, information will appear only in relation to fines paid or owed by the owner. When searched by license plates, information will not show the name of the owner.
Vessel Registry - Information such as name of vessel, call sign, IMO number, official number, name of the owner, type of vessel, tonnage, hull material, length, breadth, depth, date of issuance, expiry date.
People Search
Registro Civil del Ecuador (limited public access) - Civil registration for ID cards, birth/marriage/death records. Public access is restricted, but some identity verifications are allowed via cedula (national ID number).
Judicial records registry - Information on ongoing and closed civil, administrative and criminal cases: plaintiffs and defendants; type of procedure; commencement date; closure date.
Criminal Complaints Registry - Crime, date, place, complainant, suspect, victim information.
Asset Declaration Registry - Declaration of assets of public servants.
Procurement and Government Contracts
Courts
Judicial records registry - Information on ongoing and closed civil, administrative and criminal cases: plaintiffs and defendants; type of procedure; commencement date; closure date.
Criminal Complaints Registry - Crime, date, place, complainant, suspect, victim information.
